Clarksville Community Schools’ students and staff members will have the opportunity to view the 96% partial eclipse happening across the country on Monday, August 21, 2017.

Because of the significance of the event occurring during school hours, the Clarksville Police Department has purchased 1,500 safe, International Standard Compliant eclipse glasses for our students and staff members.

Due to safety concerns, parents/guardians will need to sign a waiver for their student to participate in the eclipse event. Students who have not returned their signed waiver of liability will not be permitted to view the eclipse outside.

All waivers must be signed and sent to your student’s school by Friday, August 18.

**CMS Waivers must be signed and sent to CMS on Wednesday, August 16. **

CCSC will dismiss at regular time on Monday, August 21, 2017.  Due to the timing of the eclipse, all students will receive eclipse glasses and will be required to have them during dismissal and will be instructed to use them if they look directly at the sun.
