Grading and Reporting

The CMS school year is divided into three trimesters, each of those containing two mid-trimester grading periods.

Honor Roll

An Honor Roll listing of those students who have done outstanding work will be compiled at the close of each grading period.  All students are urged to do work that is equal to their ability & to strive to make the Honor Roll. If a student meets honor roll criteria, they will be invited to celebrate with a special Honor Roll breakfast for the first five grading periods.

  1. Principal’s Award requires a no grade lower than an A-
  2. Honor Roll requires a 3.0 GPA with no grade lower than a B-
  3. To compute honor roll & grade point average, the following table will be used: A = 4.0, A- = 3.7,  B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D- = 0.7 and F = O  points.  Total the grade points & divide by the number of courses taken.

Charger Club

Charger Club is a reward for qualifying students. The criteria are as follows:

  • No grades below a C
  • Absences are limited to 3 or less. This includes tardies, early dismissals, and days absent

Student of the Month

Each month during the school year, two students from each grade level are selected as Students of the  Month.
