Amanda Carmichael | Dean of Students
Welcome to Clarksville High School! I am excited to begin my first year as Dean of Students and my fourth year at CHS.
One of my favorite things about Clarksville Community Schools is the small school environment. I love that we are able to have that family atmosphere while also having the ability to offer many opportunities for our students.
This past year has been far from normal, but I am incredibly proud of how we endured the pandemic as a school community and created meaningful learning experiences for our students.
While I will be primarily housed in the Renaissance building, I look forward to working with all of our students throughout the year.
I am looking forward to our school wide implementation of project based learning that will allow all of our students opportunities to collaborate and work together, which is an essential job skill.
This will be my 15th year working in education. I have many different experiences teaching at the elementary, middle and high school levels as well as administrative experience as an assistant athletic director. I have coached varsity girls basketball for 8 years, with the most recent being this past season at CHS. I will continue to coach basketball at CHS as well as varsity boys and girls cross country. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in 2006 from Brescia University, my Master’s in 2011 from Indiana University Southeast and my Administrative License in 2014 from Indiana State University.
I have been married to my husband Levi (CHS Athletic Director) for 13 years and we have two children, Evan (15) and Charley (3).
I look forward to working with all of you to have a successful 21-22 school year!
