Mindy Dablow | Principal
Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! Our staff has worked very hard to prepare for the return of our students after our shut down last spring due to COVID-19. While this year will look a bit different, we are ready to work together to ensure that your children receive the same high quality education they have always received at CES. We are truly a school family, and we just can’t wait to get our whole CES Family back together again!
This is a special year for me as it marks my 25th year as an educator! After growing up here in southern Indiana, I graduated from Hanover College with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I relocated to Indianapolis and spent the first 10 years of my career teaching in the classroom as well as training teachers in early intervention reading instruction in Perry Township schools. During this time, I also obtained my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Indianapolis and my principal’s licensure coursework through Indiana University. My family and I decided to move back home to southern Indiana, and I spent the next several years as a principal, teacher, and Title I Coordinator in Greater Clark County Schools as well as an Education Consultant with an online intervention company before coming to Clarksville Elementary. This year marks my 8th year at CES, and I feel fortunate to work with such wonderful students, staff, and families every day. I LOVE my job as CES Principal!
My husband John and I have three children, Anna (17), Caroline (15), and Jack (9). John is the Athletic Director at Silver Creek High School. My daughters attend Silver Creek High School and my son attends Silver Creek Elementary. My children definitely keep me very busy with all of their sports and other school activities!
At CES, we expect our students to show REACH, which stands for Respect, Empathy, Attitude, Cooperation, and Honesty. I will be making daily announcements with a student tip for how to show these character traits at home and school. We also hold our students to high academic standards as well. I’m so proud of our “A” school rating from the Indiana Department of Education! Additionally, we are able to offer extra academic support as well as enrichment through our Title I program to ensure that every student can reach his/her full potential.
Thank you for trusting us with the privilege of loving and educating your children! We truly love the work that we have the opportunity to do with your children on a daily basis. We are looking forward to another wonderful school year at CES!
