Music and Band

Students from fifth grade to eighth grade have several opportunities to acquire musical knowledge at Clarksville Middle School. Mr. Rob Nickerson and Mrs. Emily Stewart provide musical instruction ranging from general music classes to band and choir programs.

The following related arts classes are available to students at Clarksville Middle School:

6th/7th Grade General Music: Students will discover various genres of music, time periods, music cultures, musical notation, movement, analyzing and reading music to name a few. General music classes are taught by Ms. Emily Stewart and Mr. Rob Nickerson.

5th/6th Instrumental Music: 5th and 6th grade band members will learn how to play musical instruments, read and notate music as well as listening and performing several different styles of music. Throughout the year, Mr. Nickerson will assist beginning band students in growing their musical ability to further their involvement in the band programs offered at CCSC.

7th/8th Grade Instrumental Music:  7th and 8th grade band members will develop skills in music performance, perform and better understand different styles/genres of music as well as a host of other skills taught by Band Director, Rob Nickerson. Musical opportunities include multiple concerts, jazz band, solo and ensemble events, etc.
