Andy Luther's Page

My name is Mr. Andrew Luther. I am a 2000 graduate of Clarksville High School, and a 2005 graduate of Indiana University Southeast. As a Clarksville resident, I am very passionate about my role at CES. I feel like it gives me an opportunity to give back to my community.

My wife and I are both part of the CES community. My wife, Acacia Luther, is the librarian.

I have been an avid bowler since I was a young child. I have averaged as high as 230, and I have bowled multiple 300 games. I was also one of the first people to bowl an 800 series at Eastern Lanes here in Clarksville. Last year I accepted the role as bowling coach at CHS. We had an outstanding year winning the Southern Hills conference regular season championship. We also went on to win the Sectional Championship. In the end, we came up a few pins short of qualifying for regionals, but we had an outstanding year.

Two years ago I accepted the role as boy’s basketball coach at CES. In coaching the boys, we’ve had a lot of fun and experienced a lot of awesome things. My favorite part of coaching basketball is the road games. I feel like the road games gave me the opportunity to get to know the boys a lot better.

Over the summer I was awarded a grant from TechPoint Foundation for Youth to start a robotics program at CES. This will give me the opportunity to introduce robotics to the kids in my classroom. It will also allow us to start a robotics team here at CES. I look forward to the practices as well as the competitions.

Before coming to CES, I was an employee of Humana. In working at Humana, I led a team of 18 billing associates. I spent a lot of my time at Humana training individuals on computer systems and processes. As a technology teacher, I bring this experience to the classroom. I introduce computer programs and applications by discussing my experience with them in the business world. I like to give the kids a real life rationale for the things we do in class.

I expect the students in my classroom to come to school every day with an open mind and a willingness to participate in the classroom activities. If your student participates in my class he or she will learn a great deal about technology and earn a grade you can all be proud of.
