CES Assistant Principal’s Message

missing-student-id-107I’m so excited to be returning to CES as the Assistant Principal.  2017-2018 is going to be a wonderful year!
I received my Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Teaching for Mental Health, from the University of Colorado.  While earning my Master’s degree, I taught grades KDG-3rd in ELL classrooms.  Upon moving to Tennessee, I received a job as the Education and Nutrition Specialist for a Head Start/Early Head Start program.  While working for Head Start, I completed my EdS and Administrator’s License from Lincoln Memorial University.  After working for Head Start for a few years, I returned to the classroom as a Title I teacher and later as a first grade teacher.
Upon moving to southern Indiana, I was fortunate enough to take some time to stay home with my children, Cooper and Charleigh.  Once my children were older, I took a position with West Clark Community Schools as the Home School Liaison for Silver Creek Primary, ultimately gaining my position at Assistant Principal here at CES. After my various experiences in other states and school districts, I can honestly say that CES and CCSC has the highest level of instruction and experienced and talented teachers that I have ever had the pleasure of working with each day.

As part of the CES team, I handle attendance and discipline. Our school wide PBIS acronym REACH (respect, empathy, attitude, cooperation and honesty) is one of the ways we encourage our students to show their best behavior on a daily basis. Challenge your child to tell you how he or she showed REACH at the end of each day.

My main goal is to make sure your child has a safe, positive and challenging place to learn. If I can be of assistance to you to help you and your child meet these goals, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I know this year will be another wonderful year at Clarksville Elementary, and I’m so thrilled to be a part of this school and the community.

Warmly,

Carey Davis, Assistant Principal
